2. Crochet
Everybody call their grandmas right now because crochet is coming in HOT! It hit the runway often as an overlay or netting. Jil Sanders, Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham, and 3.1 Phillip Lim (pictured left to right) all cranked out some crochet for spring/summer 2019. What’s up with this trend though? Like when did “granny” become vogue? My personal theory is that the pendulum of fashion is starting to swing away from fast fashion, so people are gravitating toward a more handcrafted, slow fashion look. That’s just my humble two cents though 🤷.
3. Tie Dye
Feeling groovy? If you are, you’re in luck because this spring looks like it’ll be erupting with tie dye! The dip dye techniques definitely serve for a more subtle take on the trend, but going all out tie dye on a blazer is pretty cool too - it depends on how bold you want to be when you work your inner Woodstock. Among other shows, R13, Prabal Gurung, John Elliot, and Collina Strada (pictured from left to right) all presented tie dye looks. I’m already anxiously awaiting the outrageous, yet incredible street style that this trend will bring!
