Pairing Pads

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have been wearing our elbow pad sweaters quite often now that they’re back in stock so I wanted to show you how I pair them. The neutral colors make pairing easy but of course I was pretty Anjé about it and wore black bottoms with each of them. With the ivory sweater above, I wore a new version of our classic leather mini, which has a gunmetal zipper in place of our gold zip. The leather skirt plays off the leather elbow pads nicely.
I wore the charcoal sweater with our black gisella jeans for a casual cool look. Try pairing them with a bright white pair of jeans for a more polished look. The fibers in the charcoal pop so beautifully against a crisp white.
I could also see me wearing these sweaters late spring/early summer on the way home from the beach after the sun’s gone down, when the ocean gives off a cool breeze, sending a chill over sun-kissed skin. I’d layer it over my swimsuit and cutoff shorts for a quick and casual outfit.

When I paired it with our silk midi skirt, I really fell in love. The skirt brings a lovely femininity to any outfit but when paired with the cashmere sweater, both pieces played off each other so elegantly. When pairing black on black, mixing texture should always play a role so that your look doesn’t feel drab. Black is a slimming color to begin with, so wearing black on black in a fitted manner, will intensify this miracle color. I tucked in our sweater to show an hourglass figure.

Take your all-black look from casual to dressy with the simple change of a lipstick color. A light pink lip will get your black outfit through the day while a bold red lip will take you seamlessly into the night.

As always, I’d love to see how you pair them! Tag us @anjeclothing to show us your style.
