Any successful, driven woman like you knows that there are only so many hours in the day. As much as we’d like to have the time to leisurely get all dolled up for whatever portion of our social lives still exists, we know it doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes those last few emails, or random errands infringe on the time that would otherwise be put towards some pleasantly paced primping. So what do we do? Give up on our social lives all together and be condemned to a life of watching reruns of Friends in our sweats while cradling a tub of Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream? NO! (Besides the ice cream part, I’m cool with that). Whether you’re coming straight from work, or have time for a quick pit stop back home, here are a few ways you can quickly take your look from day to night!
1. Liven up those lips
Nothing screams confidence like a good old pop of color on the lips. I’m sure you’d heard the golden rule about either playing up your eyes or your lips during the day. While I don’t think that’s a very valid rule, if you happen to keep your lips fairly neutral during the day, spicing it up with a bold lip color will certainly give your nighttime look a little flair. If you’re already rocking a colored lip during the day, consider going with a color that’s a little more playful to reflect your change in wardrobe!
2. Get a leg up
Heading to happy hour? Or to a fancy shmancy dinner? Let those legs live a little too! Now, I’m not telling you to prance around in micro miniskirts…you decide what’s appropriate for your age, I trust you. What I am saying is that showing a little skin is a quick, powerful way to transform your look. This might entail you bringing a skirt to swap for your pants, or just simply taking off some stockings! Either way, showing off those gams will surely amp up your daytime look into a nighttime one. Beyond showing a little skin, keeping a set of heels handy is essential for quickly transitioning your look. Shoes make all the difference, and it’s especially true in this case!
Don’t miss out on all the fun just because you’re in a time crunch! Reclaim your social life. Get out there and make that day to night transition as seamless as possible, so you can focus on your real friends - the ones that aren’t in a 90’s sitcom…
