By now most of you have heard the news. In place of the runway this NYFW, we’ve been selected by Nineteenth Amendment and Macy’s to sell in Macy’s Herald Square…as in the The World’s Largest Store!
Aptly named High-Rise, the NYC-made capsule collection I put together for this event was inspired by architecture, primarily the skyscraper, which is the building form most closely associated with New York City. The city has amassed one of the largest and most varied collections of skyscrapers in the world. Like the slender design of these buildings, this collection is made with carefully curated luxury fabrics that work to complement the figure.
New York has architecturally significant buildings in a wide range of artistic styles. Similarly, these garments lend themselves to a variety of styles that can suit the bold showstopper as well as the demure sophisticate. The fabrics combined with the sleek silhouettes are designed to give a statuesque appearance. Like skyscrapers, each garment has something uniquely special about it that separates it from the rest.
