I’ve meaning to go to Smorgasburg for years now. I would make the trip to try a Ramen Burger alone! For those who don’t know, Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting thousands of people to try some fabulous food from local vendors each weekend. With food ranging from vegan tacos to fun drinks held in a variety of fruits, Smorgasburg is like Nirvana for your taste buds. You can check out more details on their website, just be prepared for an overwhelming desire to go visit yourself!

2. Go for a night swim
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s just something so magically thrilling about swimming at night! There’s always a little fear that a monster from The Lady in the Water is gonna pull you under, but that just adds to the excitement! This summer, I’m going to make it a point to go night swimming, whether it’s in a pool, lake, or pond! Besides, it’s harder for anyone to see messy hair or makeup at night 💁.
3. See a drive-in movie
Drive-in movies are a summer classic! There’s nothing like cozying up with some snacks while you enjoy the beautiful night sky and a movie or two! There are a lot of drive-in theaters around the Hudson River Valley area, but if you live in NYC, you know that a “drive-in” movie isn’t very feasible considering the sheer multitude of people that would show up. You can still get your fill of outdoor film fun with free outdoor movie screenings! Check out this link for details about when and where you can catch an outdoor movie in NYC this summer!
4. Pick flowers at a farmer’s market
…and then proceed to have an excessively long photoshoot with them once you get home 😉. If there was ever a season to indulge your inner Tumblr girl, summer is it! How many times have you passed by a cute market and wished you had gotten something? A pop of fresh color in your home is worth investing in!
5. Enjoy a few sunsets (and get the best pic out of all your friends hehe)
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a sunset addict. I’d go to great lengths to see a good sunset, so every summer this item is always on my bucket list. My go-to place to watch the sunset is at the beach, or near any body of water, but this summer I’ve raised the bar a little higher. For an unbeatable sunset, I think I’ll have to venture to the Top of the Rock in NYC. City skyline + insane sunset = a happy soul.
