A Quick Summer Getaway: Ocean City, MD

Anyone else still have an exorbitant amount of vacation days to use? You had at least 5 roll over from last year and now you’re so overtaken by excitement to travel again that you don’t even know where to begin. Trust me, we’re with you! But have no fear! I’ve devised an itinerary for you so you can go on a quick summer getaway and start to chip away at your PTO! A few weeks ago a couple of friends and I went down to a glorious beach town for an extended weekend and it was exactly what we needed - here’s your guide to Ocean City, MD!

After about a 4 hour drive from NYC, the first night in Ocean City was spent at Liquid Assets, an upscale restaurant and bar that had delicious food and drinks, but even better desserts. We tried the house made doughnuts and they were absolutely heavenly 🤤. Throw on your classiest fit and start your trip off right!

The next day it was time to hit the beach. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you this, but reapplying your sunscreen is the name of the game! Since Ocean City is essentially a long strip of beach, you shouldn’t have any problem finding a good spot to perch for the day! Beach essentials? A portable bluetooth speaker, a towel, and a cooler full of snacks and drinks 🥂!

At night, the go-to spot is anywhere on the boardwalk! Take your pick of fried food, hop from bar to bar, and even make your way over to the ferris wheel. Be prepared to drive or Uber around, depending on where you’re staying!

The highlight of the trip was most definitely our time at Seacrets. Another eatery featuring a clever play on words, you could easily spend an entire afternoon and night at Seacrets. There are multiple bars throughout the joint, an area to eat lunch or dinner, and a full stage and dancing section with live music. The delightful catch is that everything is on sand and the greenery is enough to make you feel like you’re in a tropical forest. One of the bars is actually in the water of the bay, equipped with tables and chairs 🌴!

After a night out at Seacrets, you’ll definitely need a hefty brunch to revive you. This is when it’s time to head to Barn34. It’s a beautiful spot with a menu that has something for everyone! It’s the perfect place to stop at before you hit the road and head home.
