Pub crawls are a blast. House crawls may bring you back to your college days (for better or for worse), but are also a blast. Yet the best crawl of all, hands down has to be an ice cream crawl. Whatâs an ice cream crawl, you ask? It may or may not be a term I invented to make an event of eating an exorbitant amount of ice cream all in a dayâs work. Alright, alright my sweet tooth definitely let this one slip through, but with the heat wave weâve been battling, I think we should all get a pass on having some ice cream. It would probably be best for our health to have at least two to three doses per day đ€·. So to help you get your fix, hereâs the scoop on a few of NYCâs finest ice cream spots đ!
Milk Bar
I went to Milk Bar a few years ago as it was rising to popularity (just trying to prove Iâm not mainstream đ). The allure for me and my friends was the cereal milk soft serve. Yes, you heard that rightâŠMade with milk, cornflakes, brown sugar and a pinch of salt, it tastes just like the milk at the bottom of a bowl of cornflakes. This place serves up more than just this intriguing ice cream flavor though, so be sure to stock up their other inventive treats!

Screme Gelato Bar
How could we forget about some good old gelato? Distinct from its ice cream counterparts, gelato has a higher density and higher proportion of milk, making it thicc (that was not a typo). I tried Screme Gelato at a chocolate expo a few years back and have been dreaming about visiting their NYC location in the Upper West Side ever since! The best part? All the gelato is made daily without any oil, eggs, preservatives, or food coloring (my crappy picture definitely doesnât do it justice đ).
Soft Swerve
If youâre looking for a light, refreshing ice cream fix, this is the place for you. I tried their matcha flavor when I went about a year and a half ago (which sadly, I think was discontinued), but there are plenty of other delicious, Asian-inspired flavors to try out. Not to mention boba and mochi to top it all off!
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer
The closer, the finisher. With locations in Herald Square, Midtown, and Soho, if youâve made it this far on your ice cream crawl, you MUST try one of Black Tapâs famous milkshakes. I mean, just look at it! My go to shake is the Sweet âN Salty (pictured here), but youâre in for the ride of your life no matter which one you choose. Stay cool and be sure to pace yourself.
